How to sew viscose fabric? My experience story

In this blog post, I want to share my experience with one of my recent favorite types of fabric that I have tried - viscose fabric. I was pleased with both the quality of the fabric and its pleasant feel on the skin.

The softness and comfort of viscose: When I felt the viscose fabric in my hands for the first time, I realized it was something special. It was so soft and gentle that I couldn't resist the thought of sewing something beautiful from it. Although it is a man-made fiber from natural materials, it creates a sense of naturalness and looks elegant. For more about Viscose fabrics, read in this article.

FOUR TIPS FOR SEWING VISCOSE FABRIC

When sewing viscose fabric, there are a few tips of mine that can help achieve better results. Here are some things you can keep in mind:

    1. Choose the right needle. I recommend changing to a new needle before sewing so that it is sharp and does not damage the fabric. My favorite is ORGAN universal needles no.70Sharp and thin - will not leave hole marks on the fabric.

    2. Sew slowly: Viscose is quite a smooth and slippery fabric, so it is important to sew slowly and carefully. Use a small stitch length and hold the fabric slightly to maintain its shape. I recommend using better clamps instead of knee pads.

    3. Before sewing, wash the fabric: As with natural fabric, it tends to shrink - in my measurements, it is on average about 6-7%.

    4. Iron at low temperature: This fabric will iron perfectly even with just steam. Smooth the seams with a lower temperature iron.

WHAT HAVE I SEWN THIS SUMMER?

Feminine dress  To check the quality of the viscose fabric, I decided to sew my first dress for Easter. I chose a flowing dress with a small flower and bunny pattern, which created a fun mood and femininity. The fabric sews easily and smoothly, and I feel comfortable in this dress. The dress was comfortable to wear, as the fabric did not irritate the skin and maintained comfort even in the hottest weather.

Running skirts- In addition to the dress, I tried to sew a skirt from viscose fabric. I chose the skirt pattern-NoraViscose provided a flowing and delicate movement to the skirt, making it feel comfortable and perfect for everyday running. These skirts have a great design - they can be worn daily with sneakers or for more formal occasions with high-heeled shoes.

Long skirts. Viscose is a very flowing fabric and I really like how it looks especially in long skirts or dresses. I received a lot of compliments on these skirts in a short time.

Overall, my experience with viscose fabric has been nothing but positive emotions and admiration for its good properties. This fabric provides not only softness and comfort but also offers a wide range of design possibilities. Viscose is the perfect choice for dresses, skirts, blouses, and other clothing items that require good drape and femininity. I will definitely continue to use viscose fabric for my sewing projects and would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy beauty and elegance without sacrificing comfort.
