134 D, 135x8 TRI are SCHMETZ industrial sewing machine needles with a triangular cutting point, designed for sewing hard, dry leather. The D-type point helps pierce tough materials and create a straight, even seam.
Features of the D cutting point
D (Triangular Point) is a triangular cutting point with three cutting edges. It makes a triangular incision in the material and provides a very pronounced cutting effect.
SCHMETZ particularly recommends this cutting point for sewing hard, dry leather. It helps reduce resistance as the needle penetrates tough material and creates a straight seam. Because the D point cuts the material, choosing the right needle size and stitch length is especially important.
Suitable materials and applications
- Hard, dry genuine leather.
- Thick leather for making durable footwear.
- Leather components for work and safety footwear.
- Rigid leather upholstery.
- Certain plastics and cardboard materials.
- Rigid fiberboard and paper products suitable for a cutting point.

Compatibility and needle selection
These needles are designed for industrial sewing machines that specify the compatible 134 D needle system. Before purchasing, check the needle system listed in your sewing machine's manual and choose an NM size suitable for the material and thread.
Important: The D cutting point is not a universal choice for sewing woven or knitted textiles. Its cutting edges can cut through fabric threads. Test the result on a material sample before sewing the finished product.
