SCHMETZ DPx5 LR is an industrial sewing machine needle for leather with LR (Reverse Twist) cutting point. The needle cut is at an ~45° angle to the thread direction, so the seam on leather looks decoratively slanted (slight left slant) with a clean, distinct cut. Chrome coating reduces friction and heat, ensuring long service life in intensive production.
Choose needle and thread size based on leather thickness and desired effect (the thicker the material, the larger the NM and thread tex):

Seam appearance in images refers to machines with side thread take-up; front thread take-up machines may show a different slant effect. If a different seam slant is needed, choose the appropriate cutting point (e.g., LL for very straight seams).
