The rubber is resistant to tension.

We tried: We washed the red, gray, and black elastic at the temperature specified by the supplier. After washing, 1 m of black and gray elastic shrank by 2%, but the red one shrank by 6%. In the next test, we only ironed the elastic, and after ironing, all colors shrank by 2% over 1 m in length. Therefore, it is important to take shrinkage into account before cutting and sewing the elastic.
